Day 1: Malaga, Spain

Welcome to Spain’s famous Costa del Sol and the 3,000-year-old city of Malaga. A favourite among Europeans, this destination is renowned for its sunshine, rich history and vibrant artistic spirit. Savour local delights like tinto de verano, a refreshing chilled summer wine, and stroll through streets adorned with stunning architectural treasures.

This afternoon, you’ll board your 6-star, ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht for your Signature Yacht Cruise. After exploring your spacious suite, enjoy a drink on your private verandah and toast the start of this enriching journey.

Day 2: Gibraltar, UK

This morning, you’ll arrive in Gibraltar. Dominating the mouth of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar is a natural fortress. The skyline is dominated by the imposing Rock of Gibraltar, a 426-metre-high limestone promontory. On the streets below, explore dozens of British stores and traditional pubs, and marvel that you’re a stone’s throw from Spain.

During the late evening cruise through the Gibraltar Strait, witness the stunning view of Europe and Africa's lights twinkle on the horizon. This unique sight highlights the beauty of the historic passage and is a must-see experience.

Scenic Freechoice:
Hike the Mediterranean Steps: Experience a challenging, guided hike up the Rock and be rewarded with phenomenal views of the Strait of Gibraltar.   

Operation Torch Tunnels: Pay an exclusive visit to the Admiralty Tunnel, where General Eisenhower had an office during WWII. This Allied command centre was where Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa, was planned.   

Panoramic Gibraltar and Gourmet Wine & Food Pairing: Take a panoramic guided tour of Gibraltar and Chatham Counterguard, where you can appreciate the vaults, stonework and arched roofs. You’ll have a tasing of local wines along with a selection of gourmet bites.   

Tour of the Rock: Discover Gibraltar’s iconic Rock, visiting Europa Point for panoramic views, St. Michael’s Cave’s stalagmites and encounter the local residents, mischievous Barbary macaques. Explore the historic Moorish Castle, blending British and Mediterranean heritage.

Day 3: Tangier, Morocco

At the northwestern tip of the African continent lies Tangier, guarding the Strait of Gibraltar where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Known as the White City for its whitewashed houses lining winding streets, Tangier has been shaped by numerous cultures and civilisations over the centuries. The strong Spanish influence makes it a prime example of Spanish-Moorish architecture. Today, Tangier is a bustling modern port and the busiest in the Mediterranean.

Scenic Freechoice:
Cap Spartel Hercules Caves & Kasbah: Travel along the Atlantic Coast to the Cap Spartel lighthouse and explore the enigmatic Hercules Caves and discover the historic Kasbah.   

Tangier City Tour with American Legation: Discover the magic of Tangier as you explore the Kasbah, vibrant souks, and the historic American Legation. Soak in the city’s unique blend of cultures, lively markets and cinematic charm where Europe meets Africa. 

Tetouan UNESCO Heritage Tour: Explore Tetouan’s unique mix of Arab and Spanish heritage, from its royal gate to the white-washed medina and vibrant souks. Finish with a traditional glass of mint tea in this culturally rich Moroccan town. 

Asilah: Explore vibrant Asilah’s Medina, with its historic gates and Palais de la Culture. Visit a public oven, view a Hammam and enjoy free time, immersing in this city’s rich cultural heritage. 

Cooking Class at the Blue Door: Stroll through the lively Medina and learn Arabic phrases as you explore the souks. Then, enjoy a hands-on cooking experience at a local culinary school, preparing and savouring your own traditional Moroccan tagine.

Day 4: At Sea

Wake up to endless ocean views from your private verandah and start your day at a leisurely pace, perhaps with a barista-made coffee delivered by your butler.

Spend the afternoon at your own pace. Soak in the Vitality pool or indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment# at the serene Senses Spa. At the Azure Bar & Café, enjoy a relaxed lunch with new friends as the sea drifts by.

As evening falls, sip a handcrafted cocktail at one of the eight bars and lounges or retreat to the privacy of your suite for a relaxing nightcap.

Day 5: Porto Santo, Portugal > Funchal, Portugal

Boasting one of Europe’s finest golden-sand beaches, Porto Santo is a serene escape of golden shores and blue waters, perfect for relaxation. The island’s renowned 9-kilometre beach is believed to have therapeutic qualities, with its sand and waters rich in iodine, calcium, and magnesium, making it ideal for soothing rheumatism and bone ailments.

By evening, Scenic Eclipse II glides into the enchanting harbour of Funchal, where the twinkling lights of Madeira’s capital city create a breathtaking welcome. With an overnight stay in port, you will have the opportunity to experience the island’s charm after dark.

Porto Santo Island: Witness an enchanting equestrian flamenco show featuring two female dancers and four Spanish horses. Porto Santo 4 x 4 Island Expedition & Wine Tasting: Explore Porto Santo’s dramatic landscapes by 4x4, visiting Pico das Flores, Ana Ferreira quarry and the traditional village of Campo de Cima. Discover the island’s volcanic and desert-like scenery, enjoy local wine and liqueur at Casa da Serra de Fora, and admire panoramic views from Portela Viewpoint. 

Quinta das Palmeiras & Wine Tasting: Explore Porto Santo’s contrasting landscapes, from the lush Quinta das Palmeiras botanical garden and bird park to the island’s desert-like northern terrain. Visit Calheta, Camacha and Casa da Serra de Fora for a local tasting, then enjoy free time exploring the charming streets and stalls of Vila Baleira.

Day 6: Funchal, Portugal

Funchal became a popular holiday destination for the European aristocracy in the 19th century and the city still retains this air of busy prosperity. The grand boulevards and charming squares of West Funchal are home to boutique shops, excellent restaurants and interesting museums. Gritty East Funchal has been transformed into a hip neighbourhood packed with buzzing bars and trendy galleries. On its edge is the vibrant Mercado dos Lavradores market, bursting with local produce. The city is famous for its gardens, so plan a visit to the Madeira Botanical Garden, Monte Tropical Gardens and Santa Catarina Park.

Scenic Freechoice:
4 x 4 Mountain Tea House: Explore Madeira’s enchanting forest regions by jeep, travelling along winding scenic routes through lush valleys and mountain landscapes. Discover secluded areas and protected natural habitats, with several photo stops along the way. Enjoy a relaxing break at a hilltop Tea House offering refreshments and spectacular views. 

Madeira Quinta Gardens & Tea: Discover Madeira’s heritage at Quinta Casa Branca, a historic estate surrounded by lush botanical gardens. Enjoy panoramic views from Pico dos Barcelos before savouring a traditional tea service with local Madeira and orange cake. Explore the gardens and learn about the Leacock family’s connection to Madeira wine. 

Madeiran Flavours: Discover Câmara de Lobos, a picturesque fishing village that inspired Winston Churchill, and sample traditional Madeira poncha. Continue to a private home in Estreito, where you’ll explore the garden and agricultural areas, learn about local farming traditions, and savour authentic regional delicacies surrounded by Madeira’s fertile countryside. 

Levada Walk & Local Heritage: Follow Madeira’s historic levadas along a gentle, mostly level path from Vale Paraíso to Camacha, surrounded by lush vegetation and peaceful countryside. Continue to Adega do Pomar, where you’ll sample local delicacies and family-crafted Moscadinha cider, made from regional apples and pears using a generations-old recipe.

Cocktail at Quinta Jardins do Lago, a luxury Botanical Garden Hotel: Discover the historic Quinta Jardins do Lago, enjoying local Madeira specialties and a traditional folklore performance. Explore its 2.5-hectare botanical garden, home to over 500 rare plant and tree species, while admiring spectacular views of Funchal and learning about the estate’s fascinating history.

Day 7: Funchal, Portugal

As the final day in Funchal begins, there’s no better way to say goodbye to Madeira than by joining one of the Scenic Freechoice activities or leisurely exploring this stunning island city.

Day 8: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain

Today, your journey concludes in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a vibrant island paradise. As you disembark from your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht and bid farewell to the crew and newfound friends, feel a deep sense of renewal and tranquillity. 

Scenic transfers are only available for flights departing out of Tenerife after 01:00 PM.
