Day 1: Lisbon, Portugal

Welcome to Lisbon, the colourful capital of Portugal and a city with a proud seafaring history. Lose yourself in its cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals.  

This afternoon you’ll board your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse. You’ll be warmly welcomed by the Captain and crew. Meet the butler and settle in your spacious suite. Join your fellow guests in the Sky Bar for a glass of Champagne to toast the start of your fascinating exploration of Western Europe.

Scenic transfers are only available for flights arriving into Lisbon prior to 02:00 PM.

Day 2: Leixões (Porto), Portugal

Spend the morning getting to know your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht before we arrive in Porto. One of Portugal’s largest seaports, Leixões is just 8 kilometres from the heart of Porto, where the city shares its name with one of the country’s best-known exports, port wine. 

Located at the mouth of the Douro River, Porto is a World Heritage-listed city of baroque splendour, Gothic cathedrals, and incredible food. Wander through winding alleys lined with houses decorated with Portuguese tiles, see the city’s street art, and take in the views from the cable car and funicular.

Porto City Tour & Gaia Wine Cellars: Explore Porto's historical and cultural charm, including the iconic Cathedral, UNESCO-listed Ribeira district and renowned port wine cellars in Gaia, where you can taste its rich flavours. 

Porto Active City Tour & Palacio da Bolsa: Discover Porto’s historic streets on an active walking tour, admiring ClerigosTower’s 250-year legacy and Sao Bento Station’s azulejo (Portuguese tile) artistry. Stroll Flores Street’s charm and explore Palacio da Bolsa’s opulent interiors, then enjoy some free time to savour the city’s vibrant ambiance.  

Guimarães & Ducal Palace: Journey through time in UNESCO-listed Guimarães, considered the birthplace of Portugal, admiring its medieval centre and the 15th-century Ducal Palace, once home to the Dukes of Braganza. Explore its regal halls and restored charm, reflecting Portugal’s rich heritage.    

Aveleda Winery - A Journey Through the Senses: Visit Quinta da Aveleda, an historic estate since 1870 in the Vinho Verde region. Stroll its tranquil gardens, learn its winemaking heritage and savour signature wines paired with local delicacies.

Day 3: Ferrol, Spain

Start your day relaxing in your suite. Ask your butler to bring you breakfast in bed or alternatively, choose to savour it in the Yacht Club before arriving in Ferrol. 

Explore the boutiques and Galician-style houses in Ferrol’s Magdalena neighbourhood, a declared Historic-Artistic site, and visit the 18th century San Felipe Castle, where bulwarks and cannons defended the city.  

Scenic Freechoice:
Ferrol & Betanzos: Visit the medieval town of Betanzos for a guided walk through historic streets and Gothic churches, followed by free time to explore. End with a panoramic drive through Ferrol's landmarks and coastal scenery. 

La Coruna & Tapas: Enjoy a scenic drive from El Ferrol to A Coruña, with views of the Atlantic and a photo stop at the ancient Tower of Hercules. Stroll through the old town to Plaza María Pita, then unwind with Galician tapas and wine at a traditional bar. 

Coastal E-Bike Adventure: Set out on an active e-bike ride through Ferrol’s coastal surroundings, taking in picturesque landscapes and sweeping views along the way. Enjoy a different perspective of the region as you follow a guided route combining natural scenery with local highlights.

Day 4: Aviles, Spain 

Sailing into Avilés, you'll be greeted by stunning views of the picturesque harbour and its beautiful blend of medieval and modern architecture. 

The city's old town, or Casco Antiguo, features a range of well-preserved medieval buildings and streets. Highlights include the Plaza del Carbayedo, a charming square home to a lively weekly market.  

For a deeper dive into the region's heritage, explore nearby Oviedo, a World Heritage site renowned for its rich history and stunning architecture. 

As you sail out of Avilés, unwind at the Sky Bar and share your travel experiences with fellow guests while enjoying panoramic views. 

Scenic Freechoice:
Walking Tour of Avilés: Explore Avilés, an historic Asturian port with a beautifully preserved old town and the modern Niemeyer Centre. Enjoy a walking tour, sample Asturian cider with tapas, and take in the city’s rich blend of past and present. 

Gijon City Tour: Discover Gijón’s coastal beauty and rich history, from the grand Universidad Laboral to the charming Cimadevilla quarter. Enjoy a scenic drive, guided walk and free time to explore.

Oviedo: Venture to Oviedo, for a panoramic tour and guided walk through its charming old town and iconic landmarks. Conclude with a tasting of local cheeses, cured meats and traditional Asturian cider. 

Western Asturian Coast: Explore Asturias’ rugged coast with visits to Luarca and Cudillero, two picturesque fishing villages rich in maritime history. Enjoy scenic views, colourful streets and a taste of local seafaring culture.

Day 5: Bilbao, Spain

Today you'll explore Bilbao, deemed one of the Basque Country jewels. This vibrant city is famous for its striking modern architecture, home to the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which showcases contemporary art and is a must-visit attraction.  

Bilbao also boasts a rich cultural heritage, which can be experienced by visiting landmarks such as the Basílica de Begoña and the Casco Viejo, or the charming old town. It's also a culinary hotspot, with a range of pintxo bars and restaurants serving up traditional Basque cuisine.

Guernica, a Symbol of Peace: Visit Gernika, a symbol of resilience marked by the 1937 bombing and Picasso’s famous painting. Explore its historic Assembly House and the town’s commitment to peace.

Bilbao & the Guggenheim Museum: Explore Bilbao, the Basque Country’s vibrant heart along River Nervión. Discover its transformation from industrial hub to modern marvel, blending heritage with innovation.

Visit the iconic Guggenheim Museum, a contemporary art masterpiece symbolising the city’s rebirth. Visit to Rioja Wine Region: Visit Laguardia in La Rioja for premium wine tastings and a guided tour at a family winery, surrounded by scenic vineyards. Pintxos Masterclass: Experience Basque haute cuisine in an intimate masterclass with a renowned local chef. Enjoy a live cooking demo, learn traditional techniques, and savour gourmet dishes paired with crisp Txakoli wine.

Day 6: San Sebastian, Spain

Enjoy a relaxed and delicious breakfast in the privacy of your ultra-luxury suite or meet your fellow guests at the Yacht Club. Then, set out to explore the charming San Sebastián. 

The famous La Concha Beach offers beautiful views of the Bay of Biscay, where the historic old town, known as Parte Vieja, is home to some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Chorus and the San Vicente Church. Less than ten kilometres from San Sebastián is the picturesque fishing village of Pasajes.

Discover the Cider Trail: Taste fresh Basque cider and rustic dishes at a traditional cider house, then explore the charming coastal city of San Sebastián. 

Pamplona & Hemingway: Follow Hemingway’s footsteps through Pamplona’s Old Town and the Running of the Bulls route. Discover the city’s vibrant culture and his lasting influence on its global fame. 

French Basque Country: Travel to Biarritz for a guided walk, free time and lunch, then continue to St. Jean de Luz to explore its coastal charm at your leisure. 

Highlights of San Sebastian: Discover the elegant coastal city of San Sebastián on a guided exploration of its most notable landmarks. Take in the beautiful La Concha Bay and explore the atmospheric streets of the historic Old Town while learning about the city’s distinctive Basque culture and heritage.

Day 7: Bordeaux, France

Today, sail inland along the Garonne River, surrounded by lush vineyards while the sun casts a golden glow upon Bordeaux Cathedral. Look out for its gothic spires and the silhouette of the Grand Théâtre, icons of the city. 

The bustling quayside will be teeming with activity, from charming cafés and markets to street performers. The scent of freshly baked bread and aromatic coffee fills the air. An overnight stay means plenty of time to indulge in Bordeaux’s gourmet delights.

Day 8: Bordeaux, France

Enjoy a full day in Bordeaux, soaking in the city’s timeless elegance. Wander picturesque streets lined with majestic buildings, each narrating centuries of stories. Explore vibrant markets with fresh produce and local delicacies. Admire Place de la Bourse and Bordeaux Cathedral's breathtaking architecture. Be immersed in cultural richness at the CAPC Museum of Contemporary Art and the Grand Théâtre.

Your visit to Bordeaux is only complete when you sample its world-famous wines at one of the many charming wine bars or prestigious châteaux. Enjoy another overnight to savour Bordeaux's delights until late, taking a leisurely stroll along the Garonne River.

Day 9: Bordeaux, France

You may choose to venture beyond the city limits, exploring the iconic wine regions of Bordeaux. The rolling hillsides around the Garonne River are adorned with prestigious vineyards, offering a glimpse into centuries-old winemaking traditions.  

Explore the timeless beauty of the Médoc and Saint-Émilion regions, where esteemed châteaux dot the landscape, inviting you to savour the essence of Bordeaux's famed terroirs. Whether wandering through cobblestone streets or indulging in wine tastings amidst lush vineyards, the opportunities for discovery are endless in this captivating corner of France.

Day 10: Belle-Île, France

One of France’s most beautiful islands, Belle-Île boasts a lush countryside, jagged rocky coastlines, quaint seaside hamlets and pastel-coloured homes. It is a mythical destination that has long inspired sailors, authors like Flaubert and Dumas and painters like Claude Monet and Matisse. This pristine location can only be accessed by boat, which means that mainstream tourists are few and far between. Explore the islands rich history and gain a new appreciation of its natural beauty. 

Belle Île Panoramic Tour: Experience the highlights of Belle-Île on a panoramic tour showcasing its diverse landscapes and unique character. Enjoy scenic viewpoints, cultural landmarks and photo stops that capture the island’s authentic charm. 

Belle Île, Eden Garden & Port Coton: Visit Eden Garden where the owner will take you on a guided walk. Then marvel at the rock pyramids of the Port Coton Needles.  

Belle Île & Oyster Tasting: Enjoy a short sightseeing tour before arriving at the famous Castel Clara restaurant for delicious local oysters paired with a glass of white wine.?  

Hiking Belle Île from Port Jean to Le Palais: Follow your guide on a hike along the wild coast, admiring pretty coves, turquoise waters and picturesque ports.

Day 11: At Sea

Start your day with breakfast brought to your suite by your butler, or perhaps with an invigorating work out in the gym or a class in the PURE: Yoga & Pilates Studio. Afterwards, indulge in the 550sqm Senses Spa# reinvigorating your mind body and soul. Access to the spa facilities is all included with only spa treatments* at an additional cost.

Enjoy your time privately or share stories with newfound friends. The Azure Bar and Café is ideal for casual but upscale dining and affords you a sea view like no other. Sip a custom cocktail in one of Scenic Eclipse’s nine all-inclusive bars and lounges, including the Whiskey Bar, where more than 130 premium varieties of this beverage available.

Day 12: Dublin, Ireland 

Your cruise finishes in the Irish capital, an ancient city with a vibrant culture and music in its soul. Savour one last breakfast in your suite before saying goodbye to your new friends and the crew who shared this voyage with you, taking with you memories of a truly unforgettable journey.

Scenic transfers are only available for flights departing out of Dublin after 12:00 PM.
