Day 1: Lisbon, Portugal

Welcome to Portugal and its capital city, Lisbon. One of the oldest cities in the world and the second oldest capital in Europe, this is a vibrant, multicultural hub with fascinating history, glorious architecture and incredible food.   

Step on board and you will be warmly welcomed with champagne. Your personalised butler will then guide you to your luxurious suite and familiarise you with the amenities. 

With the Discovery Yacht staying overnight, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Lisbon and savour the evening at your leisure. 

Scenic transfers are only available for flights arriving into Lisbon prior to 02:00 PM.

Day 2: Cascais, Portugal

Cascais is a chic and vibrant town, renowned for its rich cultural attractions and a wide array of enjoyable activities, all set against the backdrop of stunning sandy beaches. The picturesque Praia da Conceição, located in the heart of Cascais, offers golden sands and lively beach bars, making it the ideal destination for both relaxation and fun under the sun. 

Scenic Freechoice:
Romantic Sintra and Monserrate Palace: Journey into the forested Sintra hills to explore the enchanting Palace of Monserrate, celebrated for its blend of Gothic, Moorish and Indian architectural influences. Stroll through its exotic gardens before enjoying some free time in Sintra’s historic centre. 

Cascais, Cabo da Roca and the Atlantic Coast: Discover the elegant seaside town of Cascais before following the dramatic coastline past Guincho Beach to Cabo da Roca, continental Europe’s westernmost point. Take in sweeping Atlantic views and the rugged landscapes of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. 

Flavours of Cascais: Discover Cascais through its culinary traditions on a guided walk through the historic centre. Sample a selection of Portuguese specialities, which may include local cheeses, cured meats, seafood delicacies and traditional pastries, accompanied by Portuguese wine.

Day 3: Leixoes (Porto), Portugal

Enjoy a slow start this morning, perhaps with a luxurious breakfast in bed or a morning yoga class in the PURE: Yoga & Pilates Studio. Scenic Eclipse II will arrive in Leixões at noon, just 8 kilometres from Porto, one of Portugal’s largest seaports. Located at the Douro River estuary, Porto is renowned for its baroque architecture, charming riverfront, and world-famous port wine cellars. 

As the sun sets, take advantage of your overnight stay with a relaxed evening in Porto—perhaps savouring a traditional Portuguese dinner at a riverside restaurant or sipping vintage port wine in an atmospheric cellar.

Day 4: Leixoes (Porto), Portugal

On the second day in Leixões, select from one of the Scenic Freechoice activities to further explore the city of Porto from wandering the charming alleys, discovering street art and meeting the locals whilst feeling the Atlantic breeze.  

Back on board, enjoy the lively atmosphere of your Discovery Yacht. In the evening, the theatre transforms into an entertainment venue with world-class shows, including musical theatre, cabaret, pop music, dance, and interactive game shows.

Porto City Tour & Gaia Wine Cellars: Explore Porto's historical and cultural charm, including the iconic Cathedral, UNESCO-listed Ribeira district and renowned port wine cellars in Gaia, where you can taste its rich flavours.

Stroll Flores Street’s charm and explore Palacio da Bolsa’s opulent interiors, then enjoy some free time to savour the city’s vibrant ambiance. 

Guimarães & Ducal Palace: Journey through time in UNESCO-listed Guimarães, considered the birthplace of Portugal, admiring its medieval centre and the 15th-century Ducal Palace, once home to the Dukes of Braganza. Explore its regal halls and restored charm, reflecting Portugal’s rich heritage.    

Aveleda Winery - A Journey Through the Senses: Visit Quinta da Aveleda, an historic estate since 1870 in the Vinho Verde region. Stroll its tranquil gardens, learn its winemaking heritage and savour signature wines paired with local delicacies.

Day 5: At Sea > Vigo, Spain

After days of exploration, enjoy some relaxation today as you explore the ultra-luxury surroundings of your Discovery Yacht. Perhaps start your day slowly with breakfast in bed delivered by your butler, or a coffee on your private verandah as the coast slips by. Take a dip in the outdoor Vitality pool on Deck 10 or indulge in the tranquil Senses Spa# with its steam rooms, saunas and KLAFS Salt Therapy Lounge.  As night falls, enjoy dinner with friends at your choice from up to 10 world-class dining experiences.

Day 6: Vigo, Spain

Located in the north of Spain, the coastal city of Vigo is ideal for exploring on foot. The Old Town, known as Casco Vello, is in the heart of Vigo, with lively bars and local restaurants serving Galician dishes.

Vigo Sightseeing and Baiona: Enjoy panoramic views from Mount Castro in Vigo, then explore Baiona’s historic church and Monterreal Palace by the coast. 

Santiago de Compostela: Discover Santiago de Compostela’s Cathedral treasures, including Saint James’ silver urn and the Baroque Main Altar. Then stroll the charming streets before enjoying scenic coastal views en route to Vigo. 

Gardens of the North: Enjoy views from Mount Castro, explore Quiñones de León Palace gardens, and take a scenic coastal drive past Samil Beach and Bouzas. 

Galician Wine Appreciation: Enjoy a wine tasting at Gran Bazán Cellars in the historic Pazo de Bazán, then explore the charming heritage town of Cambados.

Day 7: Ferrol, Spain

Part of the region of Galicia, it has a rich history as a fishing village and strategic naval port. Explore stylish boutiques and Galician-style houses in the Magdalena neighbourhood, then visit the 18th century San Felipe Castle, where bulwarks and cannons defended the city. Around an hour inland, you can visit the World Heritage-listed city of Santiago de Compostela.

Ferrol & Pontedeume: Discover the medieval town of Pontedeume on a guided walk through its atmospheric streets, historic landmarks and picturesque waterfront, followed by free time to explore independently. Begin your day with a refreshing session in the PURE: Yoga & Pilates Studio or energise yourself with a workout in the state-of-the-art gym. Today you’ll arrive at Avilés, a historic gem in Spain’s Asturias region. Wander through the well-preserved medieval streets of the Casco Antiguo, where centuries-old architecture tells the story of an affluent past. Discover the Plaza del Carbayedo, a picturesque square lined with traditional buildings and home to a vibrant weekly market.  

As the day winds down, reflect on your day with new friends over dinner on board your ultra-luxurious Discovery Yacht.

Day 9: Bilbao, Spain

Today you will explore Bilbao, deemed one of the Basque Country jewels. This vibrant city is famous for its striking modern architecture, home to the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which showcases contemporary art and is a must-visit attraction.  

Bilbao also boasts a rich cultural heritage, which can be experienced by visiting landmarks such as the Basílica de Begoña and the Casco Viejo, or the charming old town. It is also a culinary hotspot, with a range of pintxo bars and restaurants serving up traditional Basque cuisine.

Day 10: Bordeaux, France

Your Discovery Yacht will sail inland along the Garonne River, usually inaccessible to cruise ships. Scenic Eclipse II’s sleek design makes it possible to cruise by lush vineyards and Bordeaux’s elegant architecture bathed in the sun’s golden glow.

Look out for the spires of Saint-André Cathedral and the silhouette of the Grand Théâtre, icons of the city.   

The bustling quayside will be teeming with activity, from charming cafés and markets to street performers. The scent of freshly baked bread and aromatic coffee fills the air. An overnight stay means plenty of time to indulge in Bordeaux’s gourmet delights.
